Their announcement felt like one of those moments when the whole world collectively gasped and then melted a little. They’ve always had that calm, grounded, quietly obsessed-with-each-other energy, and seeing them take this next step just felt so right. No dramatic reveal, no big performance, just two people who adore each other choosing to make it official in the sweetest, most natural way. It set the tone for the entire year, and honestly, the glow these two give off is incredible. We cannot wait for this wedding.

Jake Paul & Jutta Leerdam

Jake proposed to Olympic medalist Jutta Leerdam, apparently spending £1 million on the ring! These two have been such a surprising but genuinely lovely pairing, and their news felt like one of those “oh wow, good for them” moments that instantly brightens your scroll. Jutta has brought out this softer, more grounded side of him, and you can really see how happy they make each other. The announcement itself wasn’t wild or dramatic, just confident and full of that loved-up energy they’ve shown from day one. It added a fun little spark to March and definitely kept the 2025 engagement streak feeling strong.

Melanie Hamrick & Mick Jagger

To keep us all on our toes, Melanie Hamrick finally confirmed her engagement to Mick Jagger. Not exactly new, but news that had been under wraps for years. Melanie told Paris Match that they’ve been engaged for two or three years, and honestly, we love how she said that while marriage may not be on the cards, they are perfectly happy as they are. A lovely reminder that love doesn’t have to follow a timeline!

Simu Liu & Allison Hsu

Simu Liu and Allison Hsu announced their engagement on the 11th of May, it was just such a gorgeous little moment. These two always give off the loveliest energy, fun, supportive, and a bit silly in the best way. So when the news dropped, it felt so natural, like of course they’re taking this next step. Nothing over the top, nothing staged within an inch of its life, just a really genuine “this is us, and we’re happy” kind of announcement. It added such a sweet vibe to May and slotted perfectly into this wave of feel-good, heart-melting celebrity love stories we’ve had this year.

Dua lipa & callum turner

In June, the fashion industry started to predict the wedding look for Dua Lipa, after announcing her engagement to Callum Turner on the 12th of June. From the early days, they had that look of two people who genuinely enjoy each other’s company, not just the events and the cameras. So when the engagement news dropped, it didn’t feel like a big celebrity “announcement” at all. It felt like watching two people who have found the right rhythm together choosing to keep building on something that already works. It’s sweet, grounded, and honestly one of the loveliest relationship progressions we’ve seen this year.

JASON SEGAL & Kayla Radomski

Jason Segel getting engaged honestly feels like one of those surprisingly lovely celebrity moments you don’t see coming. He proposed to Kayla Radomski back in the summer. They’ve only been together a couple of years, but there’s something about them that feels really settled, like they actually make each other’s lives calmer rather than louder. And yes, while we’ll always love him as the lovable, awkwardly charming Marshall from How I Met Your Mother, it’s honestly wonderful to see him finding that same kind of devotion in real life. It’s one of those celeb stories that makes you smile because it feels like an actual relationship, not a headline.

victoria pedretti & ethan delorenzo

Victoria Pedretti and Ethan DeLorenzo announced their engagement on the 21st of July, and honestly, it felt like such a quietly perfect moment. They’ve been together for a few years now, first sparking up when they met through mutual friends in the acting world, and fans have loved watching their relationship grow from low-key appearances and sweet social media hints into this next big step.

Tyrese Haliburton & Jade Jones

Tyrese Haliburton and Jade Jones have one of those really sweet, all-American love stories that just make you smile. They first met back at Iowa State University when he was a rising basketball star, and she was the cheerleader lighting up the sidelines, and they’ve been inseparable since 2019. So obviously, when Tyrese got down on one knee in July 2025, it had to be right in the middle of their old college arena, what a perfect full-circle moment. Jade has been by his side through every high, every game, every cross-country move, and seeing them take this next step somewhere so meaningful to both of them is honestly just lovely. It’s wholesome and romantic.

Cristiano Ronaldo & Georgina Rodríguez

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez sent fans around the world into a frenzy, back on August 11th. And can we talk about that ring for a second? Sparkly, dramatic, and totally Ronaldo-like, it basically has its own fan club. As for the wedding? Well, if their past events are anything to go by, we expect something ultra glamorous, whilst remaining intimate, maybe a stunning European villa, all-white florals, possibly a Ferrari, because let’s face it, you can’t do Ronaldo without a touch of speed and luxury. Georgina has always had impeccable taste, and Cristiano knows how to pull off the dramatic and romantic in equal measure, so whatever they choose will be elegant, star-studded, and absolutely jaw-dropping. Honestly, we can’t wait to see what they do.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce

And then of course, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on August 26th! This stopped everything, it had everyone pausing mid-scroll, celebrating and grinning like a Cheshire cat! After months of Swiftie speculation, seeing them take the next step felt so right. And can we talk about that engagement shoot? Perfectly Taylor and Travis, romantic, full of personality, and giving us all the heart eyes.

It’s moments like these that remind us why celebrity engagements never get old, each one bringing its own kind of magic.

Liam hemsworth & Gabriella brooks

Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks announced their engagement on September 11th. They first got together after his split from Miley Cyrus, and ever since, they’ve kept things beautifully low-key, quietly building this calm, steady relationship that just works. Fans couldn’t help but smile at the idea that the Hunger Games love triangle has finally found its peaceful, real-life ending, and it seems like these two are more than ready for their next chapter. Rumour has it they’re planning an Australia wedding, relaxed, sun-soaked, and surrounded by the people who’ve watched their love story grow away from the spotlight. We can’t wait!

camila mendes & rudy mancuso

How adorable was Camila Mendes’ engagement to Rudy Mancuso? Honestly, it was one of those moments that just made everyone collectively melt. They’ve got this really natural, grounded chemistry, and seeing them take that next step felt so genuinely them. Their engagement announcement on October 25th had that cosy, soft energy that made you want to replay the video twice, and fans absolutely loved how romantic and personal it all felt. After meeting while filming Música and going from colleagues to this incredibly sweet partnership, it’s been so lovely watching them evolve.

charles leclerc & alexandra saint mluex

Formula One fans, brace yourselves! Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux announced their engagement on Instagram. They were first spotted together back in 2023. Fans saw them together during F1 weekends, and although they kept things low-key, it was clear pretty quickly that they were really well matched. Alexandra is an art history student, often seen travelling with him or cheering him on from the paddock without ever making it about herself. Their engagement in November 2025 felt lovely. Nothing overly flashy, no big performance, just a sweet, sincere moment between two people who are very obviously in their own little world together. It’s the kind of relationship that feels genuinely grounded, even with all the noise of the F1 lifestyle surrounding them.

Getting to the end of 2025, one of the latest additions to the list, Friday Night Dinner star Tom Rosenthal and Gabrielle Sky, shared their news on November 9th, with the cutest photobooth snaps. Gabrielle looked fab, showing off a gorgeous ring, and the photos are the kind of sweet, low-key moment that makes your heart melt. They also welcomed their first child a few months ago, so this feels like a perfect next chapter.

Ok, pause for a second, because the surprise of this month goes to Miley Cyrus. She and musician Maxx Morando have reportedly just gotten engaged after four years together. She stepped out onto the red carpet on December the 2nd, with a chunky, cushion‑cut diamond ring on her left hand. We love that this doesn’t feel like a dramatic headline grab, but all very grown-up.

All in all, 2025 is shaping up to be the year of the celebrity engagements. Big reveals, little reveals, rings caught in candid moments, carefully curated photos, and even long-kept private announcements.

Whether it’s a huge public announcement or a quiet, private moment, each celebrity engagement is a little reminder that love comes in all shapes and sizes. From celebrity to celebrity, from couple to couple, it is fun, exciting and just so beautiful to watch. And as this year keeps giving us more glittering rings and joyful smiles, we can’t wait to see who else will be stepping into this next chapter.

If you’re planning a 2026 wedding, here are the key shifts we’re seeing and how they’re influencing the way we design, plan and celebrate!

Red & Burgundy Colour Schemes

Burgundy is having a real moment in winter 2025! And we are seeing this trend of red tones moving through into 2026 weddings, but not always in the sense of a full red palette. It’s appearing as subtle, elegant accents that add a slight nod to this colour scheme. A red ribbon tied around a napkin, a pair of burgundy shoes peeking out beneath the dress, a red lip, a raspberry cocktail garnish, a single deep crimson rose within a neutral bouquet. We are seeing red pared with pale yellow, white, green tones, and we are also seeing full red and burgundy statement flower pieces, pared with black tie outfits – even in summer! Red makes for a bold statement – we love it!

Requests for blow-drys

Bridal beauty is continuing its journey away from structured, ‘done’ looks. In 2026, a trend we are seeing is brides wanting to look like themselves, just at their very possible best. Hair worn down, half-down, or softly waved creates an effortless, romantic feel. Makeup is natural, glowing and skin-focused. The overall look is “I just look like this,” rather than “I spent 3 hours on this.” The bouncy blow-dry is most definitely in right now, with the evolution of blow dry stylers and tools, and brides are also embracing it. It’s confident, real and timeless.

Multi-Day Celebrations

A single wedding day can go by so quickly, and couples are realising that the best moments often happen around the wedding day, whether it’s at the welcome party, the late-night kitchen chat, the slow breakfast the morning after, or during their post wedding afternoon drinks. So instead of one whirlwind day, 2026 is all about multi-day celebrations. Guests arrive the day before for a relaxed welcome dinner or cocktail evening, enjoy a pool party or brunch the day after, and really settle into the experience. It gives space, joy, connection, and importantly, time to actually be with the people you love. It saves those long conversations during the wedding day when you just want to dance, and saying goodbye at the end of the evening, when you ALSO just want to dance! Pulling a couple away from enjoying their band is no mean feat!

Pool Parties and Laid-Back Brunches

As we just mentioned, weekend-style weddings are most definitely a trend right now. I feel this has come from European weddings, but for couples who still want to stay in the UK but have this full weekend experience, like you get abroad, but without the stress of flights. 

One of the most popular things we are seeing is a post wedding day event. We’re seeing relaxed poolside gatherings, Aperol spritzes under the sun, linen outfits, and playlists that feel like summer holidays. The following morning, instead of rushing off, couples host casual brunches where everyone can debrief, laugh about the dance floor moments, and enjoy pastries and iced coffees in sunglasses and comfy clothes. Couples are going all out, with a different colour scheme, think bright pinks, lime greens and lemon yellows, with bold linen and centre pieces. It’s like their creative, bold side has taken over, but they want to keep their wedding day sophisticated and timeless! Food wise, it’s all about the brunch grazing style station, with bagel and smoked salmon, alongside a good bit of bacon and of course – mimosas and bloody Marys!

Menus That Reflect The Couple

Wedding food is no longer an afterthought or something chosen simply because it’s expected. Food is emotional, cultural and nostalgic, and couples want that reflected. They also want their guests to walk away from their wedding, never forgetting how good the food was! We’re seeing trends of shared feasting platters at weddings, beautiful family-style dishes inspired by their upbringings, and menus inspired by places couples have travelled to. Couples are wanting something ‘different’ from the standard wedding caterer. Think Asian fusion, mezze feasts, pasta served in big steaming bowls, raw seafood bars, fresh wood-fired pizzas and vibrant, colourful plates. Couples want their guests to think ‘that is so them!’ Have a favourite Turkish restaurant you eat at regularly? Our couples are wanting places like this, that mean something to them, to cater for their weddings.

Top tip: although you may have a fave restaurant who are willing to cater for your wedding, make sure they do have large event/wedding catering experience as it’sa very different kettle of fish to catering at a restaurant! Having a marquee? Again, make sure they have marquee experience, as this is an even more difficult request for caterers.

Speeches from Friends

Speeches are shifting too. More couples are inviting their closest friends to speak alongside family, or instead of family altogether. Friends often know the everyday relationship stories that make people laugh and cry. I mean, friends know all our embarrassing stories, right?! The result is speeches that feel warm and deeply personal, rather than formal or traditional. It’s storytelling about you as a couple at its most genuine.

Skipping the Wedding Party

Lots of couples are choosing to not have traditional wedding parties entirely, it’s definitely a trend we are seeing for 2026! There’s much less focus on matching dresses or who stands where, and instead a more relaxed approach where friends simply support you naturally. They might still get ready with you, be part of your morning, have a group photo with you, just without the labels and responsibilities. It helps couples to not have to worry about who is having special titles, and making others feel not as important. Adding titles can also cause stress and upset. We find wedding party fall outs to be a common theme!

Furniture Trends

Furniture is definitely becoming a wedding trend in 2026. 2026 is all about thoughtful details, rather than feeling generic. Couples want are requesting lounge areas that feel like a beautifully designed living room, rather than rental pieces lined up in rows. They want lounge furniture, that is not also great for elder guests to sit on for example, but also to look great in photos. We’re talking curved sofas, rattan areas and traditional chesterfields. 

Couples are also trying to move away from the standard offering of Chiavari chairs and matching their furniture to their décor. We are even getting requests where couples are moving away from the standard round or long tables. We are talking mix matching between the two options, or some are even talking curved, caterpillar style tables, which we don’t think are always logistically the best! You definitely seat less guests – but if you want this look, it’s an option!

2026 trends are all about creating spaces that invite guests to settle in, relax and enjoy the atmosphere rather than simply pass through.

Live Music and Entertainment

Live music is back, and in the most joyful way. Brass bands that parade guests from ceremony to reception, gospel choirs creating atmosphere during drinks, saxophonists weaving through the dance floor at midnight, bands that are performing not only in the evening, but also in the daytime. Couples in 2026 want music that is immersive and emotional. These also want to leave no gap in the day without entertainment. These performances fill the air in a way no playlist ever can. 

Entertainment is also a big thing. We aren’t just seeing your garden games! We are seeing couples hire in full mini golf courses, performers such as dancers, stilt walkers, drag acts and fortune tellers. Even additions to the day such as a backdrop where you ring a bell for a prosecco and a hand pops out with your glass of bubbly! It’s all about being interactive in 2026!

The Biggest Trend of All: Couples Who Know Themselves

The most important shift we’re seeing is couples making decisions based on who they are. They’re no longer trying to impress, perform or replicate something from Instagram. They’re choosing meaningful details and investing in experiences over aesthetics. Their weddings feel grounded, joyful, thoughtful and truly personal. And honestly, it’s the most beautiful thing to witness. These are most definitely my favourite weddings!

Let’s look at what’s trending in 2025 and get real honest: do we even need a cake?

Let’s slice into it (sorry, had to).

Why Do We Have Wedding Cakes Anyway?

Wedding cakes have been a thing for a very long time. Back to Ancient Rome, instead of cutting a cake, they’d break a loaf of barley bread over the bride’s head for luck. Romantic, right? Nothing says true love like a carb-based concussion.

Then in Medieval times, people would stack pastries into a tower, very me, and if the couple could kiss over it without knocking it down, it was said to bring good fortune! A high-stakes pastry Jenga, you could say! 

Fast forward to royalty and the upper classes, who went all in on tiered, sugar-loaded, flamboyant cakes displaying a sign of wealth and fortune. And now? We still love a good tradition, and cake is definitely one of them! Whether it’s fancy,  low key or gluten-free, you’re pretty much guaranteed cake at a wedding.

Why Cakes Are Still a Big Deal?

There’s just something about a wedding cake that just makes it feel official. Even if you’re not big on sweets, the act of cutting the cake together is kind of iconic. It’s a part of the day, and it’s symbolic of your first “task” as a married couple, and let’s be honest, it’s the tastiest one. .

Historically, cakes were linked to fertility and prosperity. The white icing was once a status symbol because refined sugar was expensive. Today it’s more about celebration, tradition, and that one part of the night where everyone gathers around, phones out, waiting for you to stab a cake with a giant knife. Beautiful.

Wedding Cake Trends We’re Loving In  2025

This year is full of beautiful cake inspiration, and we are loving what we are seeing.

Pressed flowers and botanical designs are still in, made with edible petals pressed into buttercream to create a soft, romantic garden vibe.. 

Big (and we mean big), bold single tier cakes, topped with fresh fruit, are making a serious statement, and they look especially dramatic when cut with a sword.. 

Mini, one per guest cakes these are really cute and so easy to serve, especially if using your cake as dessert (more on that in a bit). 

Flavour-wise, we’re seeing lots of couples branching out. Pistachio and rose, chai spice, lemon and lavender are all having a moment. Of course, red velvet and chocolate are still firm favourites, but it’s great to see people getting more adventurous.

Sustainability is also key. Couples are opting for local ingredients, minimal waste, and choosing to work with bakeries that take an eco-friendly approach.

And best of all, we’re seeing a rise in inclusive baking. That means cakes without eggs, butter or gluten, that still taste amazing and look absolutely stunning. Guests with dietary requirements don’t have to miss out, and nothing has to be hidden away “out the back” anymore.

But What If You Don’t Want a Big Cake?

Honestly, you’re not alone. More and more couples are skipping the traditional tiered cake and choosing something that feels more personal to them.

Doughnuts are having a serious moment. Whether displayed on a wall or stacked in towers, they’re fun, tasty, and super easy to serve.

Cupcakes continue to be a classic choice. They’re cute, completely customisable with flavours and decorations, and can be styled to look just as striking as a traditional cake.

Macarons are another favourite. A pyramid of perfectly coloured macarons is both beautiful and delicious—and they photograph like a dream.

One option we can’t get enough of is the dessert grazing table. Think macarons, mini cakes, cake pops, chocolate covered pretzels and all the sweet treats you can imagine. It’s a real showstopper and gives your guests plenty of variety.

Not a fan of sweets at all? That’s fine too. Enter the pork pie tower. It’s hearty, savoury, and especially brilliant for the evening food. Add some chutneys and cheese on the side and you’ve got a winning combo.

Whatever you go for, the idea is the same: something sweet (or savoury!) that reflects your vibe.

Making the Cake the Main Dessert

A really smart trend we’re seeing is using the wedding cake as the main dessert. It makes so much sense, both logistically and financially.

By serving the cake as dessert, you can cut it at the start of the meal while all your guests are seated and paying attention. It also means you can skip the cost of a separate dessert course altogether.

Guests are much more likely to eat the cake when it’s served as part of the meal, and you can elevate it with beautiful plating. Add some berries, a drizzle of coulis or a fancy sweet sauce, and you’ve got something that feels special.

Plus, it puts the cake in the spotlight it deserves, not just wheeled out during the awkward post-speech lull.

Or… Maybe No Cake At All?

Here’s the truth. You absolutely do not need to have a cake. If it doesn’t feel like your thing, skip it. No big deal

Choosing to eliminate the cake gives you room in the budget for other things, maybe a few extra cocktails, live music, or something fabulous for the honeymoon. It also removes the pressure of making yet another decision in the planning process.

And if you still want to offer guests a treat, just do it your way. A surprise round of espresso martinis during dancing? A late-night s’mores bar? All brilliant options.

Final Thoughts (or the Last Bite)

Wedding cakes have come a long way since Roman bread-smashing and medieval pastry towers. Whether you go classic tiered, totally alternative, or skip it altogether, your wedding day should reflect you. 

Sweet, simple, full of flavour. Just like love, really. So, go ahead. Eat cake, or cheese, or doughnuts. Or nothing at all. And enjoy every second of it.

A Ceremony Steeped in Family Tradition

The day began at Cottisford Church, a place with deep family ties for the bride. Nestled in her parents’ village, this charming church had witnessed generations of family weddings, including those of her parents and grandparents. It was the perfect setting for the couple to start their married life together.

The intimate ceremony featured traditional elements, three heartfelt readings, and beautiful music from an organist. The bride’s arrival was a highlight in itself—she travelled in a pale blue ribbon-adorned Rolls Royce, accompanied by her dad. After exchanging vows, the newlyweds stepped outside to a shower of confetti and paused under the picturesque gate archway for a traditional family photograph!

Drinks Reception in the North Hall

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the stunning Stowe School for the drink’s reception in the North Hall. With its grand architecture and elegant decor, the hall perfectly matched the couples Bridgerton wedding theme. Guests were welcomed with glasses of prosecco and an assortment of Portfolio Events’ house canapés, while a string quartet played modern tunes, (including the bride’s favourite – Taylor Swift!) creating an air of sophistication, and very in keeping with the theme.

Adding to the charm was Lauren Marie Studio, a live painter who captured pictures of the guests attending, and painted them onto a postcard. This thoughtful touch not only entertained guests but also provided each guest with a stunning keepsake. This worked instead of a favour on the table.

A Grand Reception in the Marble Hall

As guests moved into the Marble Hall for the wedding breakfast, they were greeted by a scene of grand Bridgerton elegance which really wowed everyone who entered! The room was decorated in a powder blue and white colour palette, reflecting the couple’s theme. Sky-blue tablecloths, paired beautifully with patterned charger plates and goblets, while Bloomfields Flowers elevated the space with towering floral centrepieces and delicate bud vases, incorporating a splash of peach tones within the blue hydrangeas.

The tables were meticulously set, featuring personalised menus, and a blue macaron favour at each place setting. The attention to detail created an inviting and luxurious atmosphere.

Culinary Delights Fit for Royalty

When it came to the food, the couple ensured their guests enjoyed a culinary experience as grand as their Bridgerton-inspired wedding celebration. Portfolio Events delivered a carefully curated choice menu, starting with an array of elegant starters: chicken liver parfait, roasted goat cheese and cherry tomato, or smoked salmon mousse.

For the main course, guests had the option of tender feather blade beef accompanied by horseradish mash, chicken supreme with creamy dauphinoise potato, or a beautifully prepared roasted butternut squash risotto. The meal concluded with indulgent desserts: a classic sticky toffee pudding (my favourite!) or a rich chocolate brownie. Which would you choose?!

The cake table was another showstopper. At the centre was a simple fondant cake adorned with intricate sugar flowers, with the top tier cleverly crafted as a false layer. Surrounding the main cake was an array of mini cakes and desserts, styled to complement the couple’s theme, with some floral arrangements from the church, repurposed to create a stunning, impactful display.

Evening Elegance in the Temple Room

As the sun set, the festivities continued in the Temple Room, where the evening reception brought a lively yet intimate vibe. The White Rooms Band took to the stage for two high-energy sets, while a DJ kept the dance floor buzzing between performances. The couple chose Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love for their first dance, sharing this magical moment before inviting guests to join them on the floor for their second dance to Burning Love. Choosing a second dance is a great way of making sure the dancefloor is busy from the very beginning, as you know what your guests are going to want to hear!

For evening snacks, guests were treated to bacon baps, ensuring everyone had the energy to keep dancing well into the night. Guests were invited to buy the couple’s signature drinks: whisky and coke for the groom and gin and tonic for the bride. These small, personal touches added an extra layer of personalisation to the celebration.

Unique Touches and Memorable Moments

From start to finish, this Bridgerton inspired wedding was filled with thoughtful details that made the day truly special. Some of the most memorable moments for me included:

• Traditional Family Photo: Displaying wedding photos from family members at the church gates created a touching homage to their legacy of love.
• Transport: The golf buggy ride around Stowe’s grounds was a fun and unique way to capture some magical couple’s photos in the most amazing spots.

Anant & Radhika

Let’s start with the sensational Ambani wedding! It has been quoted as the “wedding of the year” and you can guarantee we enjoyed every element. 

When it comes to grandeur, the Ambanis never disappoint! Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding was a real experience, blending tradition and extravagance. Held over several days at the Ambani family’s Mumbai residence, Antilia, the celebrations featured breathtaking floral installations, live performances, and rituals steeped in Indian culture.

Radhika looked radiant in a red Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga, adorned with intricate embroidery and jewels, while Anant wore a cream sherwani embellished with gold. Highlights? A stunning Baraat procession, fireworks, live dhol players,  topped with a star-studded guest list, and a reception dinner featuring an exclusive menu by Michelin-starred chefs.

Vicky & Ercan 

My Big Fat Geordie wedding indeed! Vicky Pattison and Ercan Ramadan tied the knot in a very chic ceremony at  London’s Marylebone town hall known for its classic intimate setting for the legal part of their marriage before flying to the Amalfi Coast for their main ceremony at Castello Monaci, nothing short of a Mediterranean dream! Vicky went for more than one dress for her wedding day. Suzanne Neville and The Wedding Club worked to ensure she looked stunning in every single part of the celebration!

Millie & Jake

Another Bride in gorgeous dresses in Italy, Millie Bobby Brown married Jake Bongiovi at the stunning Villa Cetinale. Millie wore four dresses across the occasion, for the wedding ceremony, she wore a custom Galia Lahav gown, working with designers to create her customisations. Later changing into a vintage-style Valentino dress for their couples photos, an Oscar de la Renta short dress for the reception and another Oscar de la Renta full gown to cut the cake! Millie’s four-dress approach not only showed her love for fashion but also ensured each element of the day had it’s own unique vibe.  

The flowers, oh wow! A huge white flower arch was absolutely stunning and they also had one of our favourite bands, Sensation Band, performing for their guests!

Rebel & Ramona

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma married on the Italian island of Sardinia, a truly romantic spot where they had holidayed before. They organised the wedding in 3 months and an important part of the wedding for Rebel was obviously the music, flying in a 20-piece band led and produced by Alessandro De Angelis

Rebel and Ramona stunned in a duet of Pronovias dresses in a Mikado fabric, classic elegance, styled individually. Rebels corseted princess gown looked stunning next to Ramona’s A-line silhouette, matching perfectly. 

Josh & Jordan

“In a *light* blizzard” Josh Radnor and Dr Jordan Jacobs married at the Cedar Lakes Estate in Hudson Valley, in upstate New York, in a heartwarming moment, outdoors, during a major snowstorm! 

Guests and suppliers had to stay the night as they were unable to travel due to the snow and ice! 

Guests received welcome bags on arrival, including incense sticks, an incense dish, CBD tincture and an ‘intention kit’ with paper a pen and a note reading “‘We find that setting an intention can be a helpful way to drop in and calibrate your internal compass to true north”

Lana Del Ray & Jeremy

The Lovely Lana announced her romance with Jeremy Dufrene, jut one month before they wed in an intimate ‘relaxed, family-focused’ ceremony by the water in Louisiana, where Jeremy operates his popular swamp boat tours and where they first met. 

We haven’t seen any official photos other than those released here, and no information about the dress, sad face!

Zoe & Danny 

Influencer and sister to Molly-Mae, Zoe Hague married her military fiance Danny Rae at the gorgeous Inn on the Lake at Ullswater, in the Lake District National Park. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony, with the British weather on their side, with the clouds parting and blue skies and majestic mountains – Hannah’s idea of a perfect backdrop! 

The night before the wedding, the wedding party enjoyed a scenic lake cruise aboard the Ullswater steamer to start the celebrations. For the wedding itself, Zoe wore a fitted strapless dress from The White Closet, florals from the talented Amelia Rose Florals featured a white floral arch, flower meadows for the ceremony and stunning hand bouquets for the bridal party. Following the ever-popular trend of an outfit change, Zoe’s second dress was a beautiful shorter-style ivory dress and Danny changed into a different suit, after a shower first!

Adele & Rich

Adele has been keeping us on our toes, she has been dropping cryptic hints about her wedding to Rich Paul. If you try to find out information about Adele’s wedding online, you won’t find it! She keeps teasing us all, referring to Rich as her husband and responding to Alan Carr’s asking his audience if anyone has got married recently with an “I did” but she did confirm in August they are not married, yet! So 2025, Adele,  we want to see your wedding!

Hannah & Martyn

Okay, not necessarily celebrity weddings, but one I couldn’t miss out on! Our Hannah Rose married her very own Mr Right, Martyn. Hannah and Martyn met through a friend on a night out, and as she says “The rest is history”! 

The wedding celebrations started with the legal bit taking place in the registry office, afterwards, Hannah swapped her pink wedding shoes for her climbing boots, and they along with 2 photographers, a videographer and 2 friends climbed Snowdon to read their vows to one another! 

Hannah and Martyn continued to celebrate their wedding with Friends and Family a couple of weeks later at home in Northamptonshire, with an outdoor ceremony, in true British style the rain only started 1 minute before the end of the ceremony! They celebrated the rest of the day with a gorgeous BBQ station from Portfolio Events and amazing live music throughout their drinks reception and the Josie Soden band for the reception. Some weddings are just pure joy to plan, and A&Hs big wedding day at Kensington Palace was exactly that. These two are the dream couple—kind, fun, totally in love, and ready to throw an incredible party with the finest wines and Mezcal for all their guests! Their London wedding was all about blending cultures, celebrating love, and making memories with their closest friends and family.

A love story that started at work

A&H met at work, and yep, they’re still working together today! If that’s not the ultimate team, I don’t know what is. The groom brings a blend of French and Mexican charm, while the bride is your quintessential, beautiful, British bride with a love for timeless elegance. Together, they’re just… wow. They’re also big travellers, so you can imagine how much thought they put into creating a day that was uniquely theirs.

london calling: the venues

This wedding was the perfect mix of iconic London elegance and vibrant Mexican flair. The ceremony was held at The Oratory on Brompton Road—a stunning neo-baroque church that’s as grand as it sounds. It was the perfect spot for a classic and heartfelt ceremony.

After the “I dos,” everyone hopped over to The Orangery at Kensington Palace for the remainder of the wedding day. If you haven’t been, picture soaring ceilings, beautiful gardens, and that quintessential London charm. Nothing says London more than a wedding at Kensington Palace! The Orangery gave us all the grandeur we needed, while also being the perfect canvas with its white was floors and walls for some colourful, personal touches.

Mixing Cultures, Making Magic

Let’s talk about what made this wedding so unique. Antoine and Holly wanted to celebrate their heritage in a way that felt fun and natural, so we blended British elegance with Mexican flair—and wow, did it work.

The colour palette was pastel pinks, peaches, and whites—soft, clean, and perfect for The Orangery. But then we threw in those Mexican vibes through the details: bright accents, tables named after Aztec gods (how cool is that?), and Talavera-inspired stationery that tied everything together.

The best part? A mariachi band! Yep, a full-on mariachi band to lead the guests from the church to the iconic red double-decker buses. They played their hearts out while guests sipped champagne and tried tequila and mezcal—because why not start the party on the bus?

Food, drinks and all the fun stuff

Antoine and Holly are big foodies, so the menu was a huge deal. We worked with Jimmy Garcia Catering to create a feast that brought together the best of both worlds—think French wines, Mexican tequila, mezcal, and a menu full of flavours such as tostadas for starters, and a beautiful French Croquembouche, which was cut before the meal and served for dessert. The menu, of course, got everyone talking!

Another standout detail was the drink menu signage. It wasn’t just “Here’s your wine and tequila”; it was “Here’s why we’ve chosen these drinks and what makes them special.” Guests loved it, and it added such a personal touch to the day.

And can we talk about the after-party? It was at a local club and featured a piñata—because what’s a party without a little smash-and-grab fun? It was playful, festive, and the perfect way to keep the energy going until 3am!

fashion that wowed

Holly looked absolutely stunning in her Caroline Castigliano gown. It was elegant, timeless, and just so her. The talented team at Team Glam Bridal worked their magic on her hair and makeup, and she was positively glowing all day.

Antoine, not to be outdone, looked dapper in a tailored suit that brought a touch of French sophistication to the mix.

Holly opted to not have a bridal party, just her sister as Maid of Honour, which kept it simple and very much calm during the morning of the wedding!

The challenges (because it’s London)

Of course, it wouldn’t be a London wedding without a few hiccups. On the morning of the wedding, protests and road closures threatened to make the bride’s journey to the church a bit of an adventure. But hey, I love a challenge, and we got Holly there on time (and stress-free, might I add).

It’s moments like this where you realise how important it is to have people in your corner who can think on their feet. Wedding planning isn’t just about pretty flowers and timelines—it’s about making sure the day runs smoothly, no matter what London throws at you!

a day to remember

The whole day was filled with so much love, laughter, and energy. The mariachi band, the heartfelt speeches, the incredible food and drink—it all came together to create a celebration that felt so personal to Antoine and Holly.

One of my favourite moments? Watching the guests light up as the mariachi band played on the buses. It was such a fun, unexpected touch, and it perfectly captured the joyful spirit of the day. So many people were stopping in the street to watch, which is a rarity in London!

Why I loved this wedding

As a planner, you always hope to create a day that feels just right for the couple, and this wedding was exactly that. Antoine and Holly trusted me to bring their vision to life for their wedding at Kensington Palace, and it was such an honour to be part of their journey. Meet Radhika and Ashik

Radhika and Ashik are a lovely couple, bonded by their deep affection for each other, and, of course, a shared love of Harry Potter! They both admit that they are on the introverted side, so even though the wedding was a three-day celebration, it was important to ensure they had moments to enjoy just being together amidst all the festivities. Working with this beautiful couple over 18 months was a pleasure! It’s super important when hiring a wedding planner for your personalities to click, after all, you are working together across a long period of time, so if you don’t get on, or if you don’t quite ‘get’ each other, it will be far more stressful! After meeting Ash and Radhika, we absolutely clicked, and I loved the ideas they had over the time we worked together.

Personal touches that made the wedding day

One of the things that made this wedding so memorable was the way we infused the couple’s personalities into the day. Their love for Harry Potter was cleverly incorporated into the table names, which were inspired by buildings and places from the novels, and featured hand-painted images by Abi at Draw My Door. These thoughtful details added a warm, personal touch to the day, making it truly their own.

The couple even created their own newspapers for each day! Each paper had information of what was happening for the day, with timings, including information of when taxis would arrive, and even a couple related crossword puzzle!

blending Indian and British Cultures and Styles

The setting for this wedding couldn’t have been more picturesque—Berwick House, nestled in the lush Shropshire countryside. Radhika and Ashik wanted a wedding that honoured their Indian heritage while also capturing the charm and romance of a British countryside celebration. Fortunately, the weather was just right—not too hot and not too cold—which added to the relaxed and happy atmosphere.

Family and friends travelled from all over the world, from India to America, so not only was it a wedding, but also an occasion for a reunion of family. A celebration of love, family and tradition.

We worked together to ensure that the traditions of an Indian wedding in the UK were kept, through the ceremonies, the food and the colour schemes, but also with a British, countryside vibe to the day, which is why the venue was a perfect choice for them.

Stunning Indian Outfits and Colour schemes

I will never get over the outfits at this wedding! (One of the highlights of working in the wedding industry – seeing the couple and guests’ outfits!) Radhika wore six different outfits over the course of three days, each one suiting such a natural beauty. From four traditional Indian dresses, including a traditional, impressive red dress on the wedding day, to a sleek lemon-coloured gown for the welcome party, and finally her elegant white dress from their civil ceremony earlier in the week—each outfit was thoughtfully chosen from India and the UK to reflect the different aspects of their celebrations.

The colour palette was also carefully considered to set the tone for each event. For the traditional ceremonies and mehndi party, we went with vibrant blue and yellow tones. On the main wedding day, we softened the traditional red by incorporating more pinks into the décor, creating a romantic and modern feel while still paying homage to the cultural significance of the day.

Indian Traditions with a Modern Twist

In keeping with Hindu wedding traditions, the couple’s families were deeply involved in several key ceremonies. The Ganesh Puja and Haldi ceremonies on Friday were particularly memorable, with guests enthusiastically covering the couple in turmeric paste—a symbolic (and really fun – for the guests anyhow!) ritual.

A special moment that I’ll never forget was when the priest invited me to take part in the Haldi ceremony. Being asked to join in this intimate family ritual was a real honour and perfectly encapsulated the warmth and inclusivity that defined the entire wedding.

For the main wedding day, instead of a traditional mandap, we worked with the florist to create four contemporary floral pillars, which symbolised the traditional mandap pillars but with a fresh, modern twist on what you would usually see hired in for an Indian wedding.

Unique wedding Moments and Lasting Memories

There were several unique touches that stood out, but the cake was definitely a highlight! A one-metre wide masterpiece piled high with fresh fruit. This was a breath of fresh air from the usual traditional tiered wedding cake and was very well received by the guests (and me of course!). We actually hired a local bakery – Pont Bakery – to create this. Radhika and Ashik were keen to use them as they had visited the bakery on their first trip to Berwick House and loved it!

Radhika and Ashik’s Uk Indian wedding was a true celebration of love, blending vibrant Indian wedding traditions with the serene elegance of a British countryside setting in the UK. From the moment they chose to work with me, we set out to create a day that wasn’t just about their union, but also about bringing together the people they love in a setting that felt just right. The result was a wedding that was as unforgettable as the couple themselves.

Wedding planning isn’t always easy! I have had so many questions about planning my own wedding while I am a wedding planner myself, working in the wedding industry, so the lovely Chloe who works alongside me has decided to put together some FAQs we have been getting from you all to talk all about my own wedding!

Hey! It’s Chloe! I have had the opportunity and pleasure to chat to Hannah all about her own wedding planning and wedding day! She is known for her attention to detail, great taste and “will do anything!” attitude, she has built her career out of making other people’s dreams come true. 

Now as she steps into the role of a Bride, we have the rare opportunity to flip the narrative and see how she has brought her own wedding to life, learn what she has learnt, and follow the emotions of a Bride planning her own wedding, as a wedding planner.

How did you and Martyn meet? We met through friends on a night out! It was a bit of a whirlwind as he lived in Bedfordshire and I was in Norfolk, so we were travelling to see each other. Martyn then moved to Birmingham, which was even further, so he asked me to move with him! After just 3 months….and the rest is history!

How did the proposal go? It was amazing and completely unexpected! We are both into hiking, so we hiked Snowdon and then took the trail up to Y Lliwedd, which was a really quiet mountain peak, so it was super private! I didn’t have a clue that it was happening!! Martyn is very much into photography and videography, so it was very normal that he would put a drone up into the sky and ask me to stand somewhere so he could video the landscape. This is what he did before he proposed and so we have it all on film! You can see it over on Instagram!

What did you do for your Hen and Stag? Martyn went to Wales for the weekend and camped, did some activities etc and we rented a house in Cambridgeshire for the weekend! We both kept it very much ‘us’. We didn’t want the typical hen/stag parties focused around drinking!

Why did you decide on an elopement and a separate wedding day? Being in the industry for so many years, I have seen MANY civil ceremonies, and I just don’t feel they are completely personal to the couple. I wanted to get the legal part done separately, and then have a really personal service on the wedding day. The elopement then turned into more of a celebration, which was completely different and very much us, which we LOVED! There is no way we could have had that wedding with family and friends there, so we are really glad we made that decision and had the experience of the elopement!

What bits of the wedding were the easiest to plan? Finding suppliers as I know so many amazing ones. It was in ways, also difficult, as I then had to choose from them all! Also, the elopement, as we kept it so stripped back.

What did Martyn plan? He was very much involved in final decisions. He also sorted the suits for himself and his best man, along with his elopement suit, shoes etc. We both made all the final decisions on music, flow of the day, etc. He also very much wanted a pianist. As Martyn is really into his photography, he did the research on local photographers.

Let’s talk elopement quickly first! 

How did you come up with the decision to climb Snowdon for an elopement, why was it so important to you? The first time we climbed Snowdon was one of our stand-out experiences together, and it really got us into hiking. We also got engaged there, so it had to be done! It was also really important for us to have a very personal day!

How did it work, how did you make it a legal wedding ceremony? We got married at the registry office first, then drove 20 minutes to start the climb with our 2 photographers, videographer and 2 friends who carried our bags with food, water etc.

How was climbing Snowdon in your wedding outfits? Everybody kept saying ‘Wow you will struggle in a dress’, but I chose a dress which was a beautiful material and had a slit, so I was fine! Martyn did slightly struggle in tight trousers though…

What did you do after the climb to celebrate? Due to a group of us climbing, the time of the ceremony and stopping for photos etc, we didn’t actually get back down until 8pm, so we went and got pizza which we ate in our van in a beautiful park up. We were knackered so it was an early night!!

What is your biggest takeaway from that experience? Always follow your heart and do what YOU want to do! So many people thought we were crazy and didn’t really understand the idea, but this didn’t deter us! The elopement was literally perfect, there wasn’t a single thing I would change. The weather was amazing to us, and it will forever be the best day of my life.

Let’s talk about your wedding day!

How did you feel moments before your wedding? Excited! I just wanted to get going! The emotions kicked in literally as I was about to walk down the aisle! I was absolutely fine all morning, just excited.

What was the most special part of your wedding? A stand-out moment for me was during our drinks reception. We hired an acoustic guitarist who was amazing, and we danced together with our friends and family – anyone would have thought it was the evening reception at that point! Also, absolutely loved Martyn’s speech. The morning was also really special for me, everyone was so excited and so happy with their hair and makeup. It was a lovely chilled morning.

We want to know about the planning! What was the number 1 most stressful thing about your wedding planning? People’s input. People who wanted to get involved in a negative way. It’s very stressful trying to manage other people’s emotions and what they think you should do.

You must get asked this as a planner quite a bit, there is always a debate on how long you need to plan for a wedding! How long were you actively planning for? We got engaged in August 2022 and started thinking about what we wanted to do. We knew straight away what we wanted to do for the elopement, but we didn’t actually book our venue for the wedding day until Jan 2023, so planning started then really, so around a year and a half. We would have loved to have had the wedding in 2023 but the diary didn’t allow it! And I am so glad now that we didn’t go for 2023 as that would have been busy!!

How did you decide on 2 wedding dresses? Originally, did you want them to be similar or different to one another? I got my elopement dress pretty quickly! It was one of the first things I did. I knew I had to be able to climb in it, and I really wanted a long-sleeved dress. For the wedding day, I wanted a different vibe, and something more fitted. I actually bought this dress on the 1st outing! I only tried it on because my sister-in-law liked it and wanted me to try it on! I knew in my head the kind of thing I wanted, although I did end up with something quite different! Just with elements such as spaghetti straps and a plunge front.

How did you decide on your Bridesmaids dresses? And how was organising dresses with your Bridesmaid’s not living local? They made their own decision on dresses! I gave them the colour scheme and they chose what they wanted, so they could go off and shop for themselves. I ordered swatches for the colours so they knew what colour to get.

WHO IS WHO?

It is important that the venue knows who is who. Determine who the venue staff can go to on the day should there be any questions with suppliers. You can nominate a member of your bridal party or someone who wants to have a job on the day!

Suppliers, your venue will need to know all your suppliers and their contact details. Most venues will reach out to suppliers before the day to check a few things, such as adhering to sound limitations or asking for public liability insurance.

Questions for Your Suppliers, as well as your venue needing to know who your suppliers are, your suppliers may have questions about the venue, and you might still need to have a final catch-up with them. It is important they know what time they can access the venue. Occasionally, venues will allow florists early access to start floral arrangements. You will also want to know when the tables will be dressed with linens so the florist can add centrepieces.

You will also want to know who will be there to greet you when you arrive, will it be the event coordinator or a delegate? It’s always good to have a contact number to pass on to suppliers if they are arriving before you.

The band and photographer will want to know if there is space to store their equipment or bags, where they can rest during breaks, and what time their meals will be served. It’s important to ensure that performers’ meals are not served while they are performing or during a speech if a photographer is taking photos!

GUESTS

First off, your total guest number! How many adults, how many children, and how many babies who won’t be eating?

If you have guests staying on site, you may have a few things to check with the venue as you will likely get last-minute questions from your guests. Room allocation, are certain rooms allocated to specific guests, and have they been allocated appropriately? Check the earliest time your guests can check in, if there is any early check-in process, the latest check-out time, and options for a later checkout. If the check-in is later in the day and around your ceremony time, is there somewhere guests can freshen up and store luggage?

Talk through the breakfast options, are you having a big breakfast for just your guests in a private area, and if so, what are the timings? Also, discuss any dietary requirements they need to know about.

You may also want to find out details of recommended taxis. You can share this information with your guests in advance so they can pre-book taxis for the end of the night or to get to the venue.

TIMINGS

Those all important timings are key! Discuss the full schedule of the day, and don’t forget the smaller details, such as what time you plan on getting into your dress and what time each supplier will be arriving. Without this information, it’s difficult for your event manager to run the day. You will also want to discuss access times with your venue to pass on to your suppliers if they haven’t worked at the venue before.

One of our favorite things to do on the day with the couple is a first look at the wedding breakfast room. Generally, you won’t get to see your full vision until you are married. So, it’s good to put it into your timeline of the day and let your photographer know that you want to capture that experience! Ensure you discuss this with your coordinator so they can liaise with the photographer on the day and fit the time in before your guests enter the room.

CATERING

What dietary requirements do you have? Make sure you supply a list so your venue can tailor your menu for those guests! If they are having something different from what the other guests are having, make sure you check this, especially if you are having individual menus printed, as you will need this information for your stationery.

You’ll also want to take final information of your wedding menu and drinks that you would like, in case this has changed since your tasting or your last discussion. If you are having an external caterer, make sure this is provided to them.

WHERE?

As well as the obvious, there may be a few other things you need to finalise, where are you putting your cake, card box, seating chart? Where are you going to have your meeting with the registrar and at what time? Is there a PA system and where is it? Can you use this for any music you need throughout the day? Discuss who is playing the music for the day.

Many couples now decide to change their outfits later in the day, whether that be from a big dress to something more comfortable or just because they couldn’t decide on a suit, so they have another one for the first dance. It’s good to know where you can keep your second outfit safe and where you can change into it.

FINAL IMPORTANT DETAILS

Check with your venue when your final bill is due and the amount. You don’t want the invoice coming through while you’re on your honeymoon! Have you discussed a wet weather plan and what your options are? The last thing you want is a surprise on the day that you’re not happy with.

Final guest numbers, dietary requirements, and seating plans, no matter how much you plan, your guests are somewhat out of your control, and you may end up with dropouts or last-minute changes. It’s good to know the final date for any last-minute changes.

What even is a notice of marriage?

The notice of marriage appointment is intended for you to confirm that you are legally getting married (not already married etc) and that you are willingly marrying. The information of your marriage, names, ages, jobs etc is then posted to your local registry offices register for any public to see, in case anyone may object and say that you aren’t actually legally getting married, that your information is incorrect, or that you are underage without parental consent. This is legal in England and Wales and you cannot legally marry without giving your notice of marriage.

How to book your notice of marriage?

You need to book your notice of marriage at the local registry office to your home, regardless of where you are getting married in England or Wales. Our ceremony was being held in Wales, but we did our notice of marriage in the local registry office to us – you don’t need to travel to the location that you are getting married in. Some couples may think this is the case, but no travel is required! If you are getting married in Scotland, you won’t need to give your notice of marriage. When you book your ceremony (which you will do before booking notice of marriage) they will send you a confirmation with information of how to book your ceremony. The best way to find your local registry office is via the link here. You can then go directly to your local council website and generally, they will have an automated online service where you can easily schedule in a time.

Do we need to go together?

When you book your notice of marriage, you can either book to do this together or separately, depending on both of your locations and your schedules. Most couples will tend to do this together. We opted to do ours together.

When do I need to give notice of marriage?

You will need to give your notice of marriage a minimum of 28 days prior to the wedding day. You can book appointments up to 12 months in advance. Some registry offices will only allow you to book a certain number of months before, ie. 4 months if they are a busy registry office and have minimal appointments. Generally, the appointments are only available during office hours, Monday – Friday. Some will offer Saturday sessions; it just depends on your area. I always advise to just get it booked and out of the way as soon as possible. It is something you can easily forget around the stresses closer to the wedding, and you won’t be able to get married without it!

What documentation do I need to take?

When you book your notice of marriage with your local registry office, they will send a confirmation of the exact documentation you will personally need. We took our passports, driving license, a bill with confirmation of address and I also needed to take a deed poll certificate as my name changed when I was younger, but because I no longer use my old name on my passport etc, I didn’t actually need it. Always best to take it just in case though if you have changed your name previously.

How long does giving your notice of marriage take?

The question I searched for but couldn’t find anything! When we booked, we booked a double appointment and it put in 45 minutes each – so 1.5 hours in total which I was surprised about! It actually only took a total of 25 minutes for both of us in total.

What happens at the appointment?

To begin with, you will go into a room with one registrar. They will ask the information of where you are getting married, when etc. You will need the exact address of your venue or registry office, so make sure you have that to hand (I didn’t and was then searching around in my emails to make sure I had the correct address as you can’t change it afterwards and have to rebook and pay for another notice of marriage!) You will then be split up, one of you will go back into the waiting area, and one will stay. They will ask you what is the name, date of birth and address of yourself and the person you are marrying. They will also ask if you want your parents or guardians’ names on your marriage certificate – if you do, they will then ask for their details, including occupation. They will then swap you over and do the same with your partner. You will then come back together at the end, where you will both sign to say that the information you have given is correct. They will explain that this is then added to the register for 28 days.

Did you know – until 2021 when the marriage act changed, only your father’s name would be shown on the marriage certificate! This changed recently so both parents names are able to be shown if you wish!

What about information for music and witnesses etc?

You don’t need to confirm any of this information at the appointment. This is purely to give your intentions to marry. The registry office holding your ceremony, or the registry office who is providing your registrar will contact you with a form to complete with this information.

What happens if I am late or have the wrong documentation?

If you know you are going to be running late, call the registry office and see what can be done. If you miss your appointment, or you don’t have the correct documentation, you will need to book and pay for another appointment.

What if I am getting married in a church?

If the person marrying you, is able to legally marry you within their church, instead of giving your notice of marriage, they will read the banns before church service for 4 weeks in case anybody objects. If the person marrying you does not have a license, then you will need to also hire a registrar from the local registry office and you will need to give notice of marriage. You can discuss this directly with your place of worship.

Can wedding witnesses be family?

You can have anybody as your witness! As long as they are witnessing you legally marrying, it can be anybody who signs to say that the marriage happened. There may be clauses from your registry office on what age your witness needs to be, although there is no law on the minimum age, just that they need to be of age to understand what is happening, but your registrar may have their own rules which you need to abide by on this matter.
